The Science Breakthrough Award went to Beatriz Sánchez-Cano, a planetary scientist at the University of Leicester, leading the M-MATISSE mission to study Mars' magnetosphere and atmosphere.
The Sustainability for Earth Award was presented to Space Forge, a U.K.-based company developing semiconductors in space for renewable energy generation. Astroscale's director, Tahara Dawkins, received the Playmaker of the Year Award for their efforts in preserving low Earth orbit from space junk, and the company also won the Sustainability for Space Award.
The James Lovell Legacy Award, a special tribute to the late Apollo 13 astronaut, was jointly awarded to his children, Susan, Jeffrey, and Barbara. This award will be presented to individuals embodying James Lovell's values, inspiring future generations to continue his legacy.
